Pricing your music, products and membership tiers

Ask an artist what their work is worth and they will usually name a number well below what their audience would happily pay. Pricing is not a measure of your confidence — it is a design decision, and it can be made calmly.

Start with three price points, not twelve

  • A small one people choose without thinking — a tip, a single download.
  • A middle one that is your real offer — a bundle, a project, a full pack.
  • A larger one for the people who want to go all in — a membership tier or something limited.

Most of your income will come from the middle option, and its job is made easier by having something on either side of it.

Price the outcome, not the file size

Nobody buys megabytes. They buy the feeling of having the song, being early, being close to the work or being part of something. Describe that in the product, and the price stops feeling abstract.

If a price makes you slightly uncomfortable, it is usually close to right.

Only promise what you can deliver every time

A membership tier is a monthly commitment to yourself as much as to your fans. One reliable thing a month beats four things you will resent by week three. Set your tiers in Earn, keep the promise small, and raise it when it feels easy.

Verified artists can take tips, product sales and memberships through secure checkout, and every payment shows up in Your Bread — so you can see what your audience actually values instead of guessing.
